Electronic Vehicle Registration Program
You may hear Electronic Vehicle Registration referred to as EVR.
General Information for Dealers and Providers
The Electronic Vehicle Registration (EVR) program allows authorized business partners to apply for titles and registrations on newly acquired vehicles electronically. The EVR system is supplied through a service provider that works with the SCDMV. This is a two-step process. In step one, the dealer enters all the appropriate information and issues a dealer temporary tag to the buyer on the date of sale. In step two, the dealer finalizes the electronic application for the title and registration. Once this is completed and you submit the paperwork, the SCDMV will mail the vehicle license plate and title to the owner. If there's a lien on the vehicle, the title will go to the lienholder.
