This transaction enables you to obtain:
- A duplicate credential if yours has been lost or stolen.
- To request a credential that reflects a change of address, you must first change you resident address.
To complete this transaction:
- Your license or beginner permit must be eligible for this transaction. If you are currently suspended or have outstanding reinstatement requirements you will not be able to complete this transaction. Most outstanding reinstatement fees may be paid using the Pay Reinstatement Fees transaction.
- You must be a US citizen. If you are not a United States citizen, you may obtain a duplicate license at one of the DMV Offices that process non-United States citizen application.
You cannot use this transaction to request a duplicate Provisional, Route Restricted or Temporary Alcohol license. To obtain a copy of these credentials please visit your local DMV office.
You may receive only one Duplicate Driver's License through DMV's Web site within a 12-month period. Additional duplicate licenses may be obtained by visiting your local DMV office. DMV closely monitors the number of duplicate licenses issued to a customer. The issuance of more than 3 duplicate licenses in any one renewal cycle may result in an investigation by DMV.
