The National Criminal Report
Starting Tuesday, October 15, 2024, the SCDMV fully transitions to online Dealer License and Demonstration Plate Renewals only. Monday, October 14, 2024, is the last date that dealer license renewal applications will be accepted and processed by a branch office or by mail (must be postmarked by October 14, 2024). You may be denied a dealer license if you have any of the following on your National Criminal Report:
- Convicted of any law violation involving the acquisition or transfer of a title to a motor vehicle or of any violation of law involving tampering with, altering, or removing motor vehicle identification numbers or markings
- Found, by a court of competent jurisdiction, to have violated any federal or state law regarding the disconnecting, resetting, altering, or other unlawful tampering with a motor vehicle odometer
It may take a minimum of three to five business days to receive the report via email. The minimum cost is $43.01.
