Automobile Liability Insurance Reporting
The SCDMV implemented Automobile Liability Insurance Reporting (ALIR) in 2004. ALIR collects liability insurance information from insurers that are licensed to do business in South Carolina.
The SCDMV checks the collected information to driver and vehicle data to identify registered vehicles that do not have the minimum liability insurance requirements. ALIR is available to insurance companies, agents, and agencies licensed to do business in this state.
If you're a licensed insurance provider, you can verify a customer's insurance information in real-time via ALIR.
