Provide Emergency Contact
If you have a beginner's permit, driver's license, or identification card, you should update your emergency contact information on your SCDMV record. If you're in a collision or have a medical emergency, law enforcement officers and coroners will have access to your emergency contact information and may provide it to medical personnel.
