This license plate is available to members of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity. To apply for the plate, you must present a current membership card, life membership plate, or a letter from the District Director on district letterhead. Proceeds from the plate will be distributed to the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. for scholarships. The fee for this plate is $70 every two years in addition to the regular registration fees.

First-time applications must be handled by mail. You must certify on the application that you hold an unrevoked and unexpired amateur radio license of a renewable nature as issued by the Federal Communications Commission. The fee for the license plate is $2 plus the registration fee.

The American Red Cross license plate is sponsored by the American National Red Cross. The plate is available to all South Carolina residents for a fee of $25 every two years in addition to the regular registration fee. Proceeds from the plate will be used for the delivery of mission related services of the Red Cross in South Carolina.

Ancient Free Masons license plates are $30 every two years in addition to the registration fee. Funds are distributed to Scottish Rites Foundation of South Carolina. Funds will be used for speech and language therapy for pre-school children and disaster relief. You must present a current dues card from the Grand Lodge of Ancient Free Masons to be eligible for this plate.

Anderson University license plates are $70 every two years in addition to the regular registration fee. If you purchase this plate, $40 of the special plate fee will be sent to the specified school for scholarships. You may use the Application for Special Plate (SCDMV Form MV-95) to apply for this plate. It can be purchased for cars or light trucks with an empty weight of 9,000 pounds or less and a gross vehicle weight of 11,000 pounds or less. To get an antique license plate, your current title must be surrendered and the SCDMV will issue you a new title marked Antique. The fee for a new title is $15. To qualify for an antique license plate, the automobile or motorcycle must be at least 25 years old. The vehicle is to be used in club activities, exhibits, tours, parades and similar events, but cannot be used for general transportation. When the vehicle is sold, junked, or otherwise disposed of, you must return the antique plate to an SCDMV branch. The plate costs $10.

The Back the Badge license plate is sponsored by The Fraternal Order of Police. The plate is available to all SC Residents for a fee of $40 every two years in addition to the regular registration fee. The fee for the Beaufort Water Festival license plate fee is $30 every two years in addition to the regular motor vehicle registration fee. The plate is available to the general public and has no special requirements. The South Carolina Department of Health & Environmental Control uses 50% of the proceeds collected for screening funding. The other half of the proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society for quality of life programs for breast cancer patients and caregivers.

Denmark Technical College license plates are $70 every two years in addition to the registration fee. You may use the Application for Special Plate (SCDMV Form MV-95) to apply for this plate. This plate can be purchased for cars or light trucks with an empty weight of 9,000 pounds or less and a gross vehicle weight of 11,000 pounds or less.

Disabled plates are available at any SCDMV branch. You must submit a Disabled License Plate and Placard Application (SCDMV Form RG-007A) with Section 4 Physician's Statement completed by a licensed physician. If you own a vehicle that has a license plate for a person with a disability, you must have the registration card that lists the names of all eligible people with a disability who can drive or be carried in that vehicle. When you renew your plate for a person with a disability, you will receive a new plate and registration. Plates for people who have a disability who drive motorcycles are also available. Businesses are not required to certify with a physician. However, businesses with plates for people with disabilities must carry registration cards. Business certificates will not list names of people with disabilities, but the certificate will indicate that the vehicle is entitled to park in designated parking spaces. The fee for the plate is $36 every two years. Truck fees are determined by weight of truck. Vehicles that have this plate are exempt from the payment of municipal parking meter fees (SC Code Section 56-3-1965) and are permitted to park in designated handicapped parking spaces.

To receive handicapped privileges you must be certified permanently handicapped by a licensed physician on the Disabled License Plate and Placard Application (SCDMV Form RG-007A). There is no fee for this plate. You may be issued three plates within the plate class to include Disabled Veteran, Disabled Veteran Handicapped, and Disabled Veteran Motorcycle. The Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune license plate is available to all South Carolina residents. The plate recognizes Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune, who was born in Mayesville, and her many contributions to education. The cost for the plate is $30 every two years in addition to the registration fee. Proceeds from this plate will support the construction of the Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune museum, restaurant, and nature trail and support tourism in Mayesville, Sumter, and South Carolina.

Driven by the Arts license plates are $70 every two years in addition to the registration fee. A portion of the special plate fee, $60, goes to schools and communities across the state for K-12 arts education programs. To receive the handicapped privileges , you must be certified permanently handicapped by a licensed physician on the Disabled License Plate and Placard Application (SCDMV Form RG-007A).

You must present a Department of Defense Form DD-214 or documentation certifying that you were awarded the Vietnam Service Medal or that you served on active duty in Vietnam. The www.IBelieveSC.net license plate is available for private passenger vehicles and trucks with an empty weight of 9,000 pounds or less and a gross vehicle weight of 11,000 pounds or less. The biennial fee for the plate is $25 every two years in addition to the regular registration fee. Proceeds from the sale of this plate are used to support faith-based educational and religious programs. You may also get a personalized version of the plate that contains letters or numbers or both and the “&” symbol. Text is limited to six characters including spaces and will be granted based on availability. The personalized version of this plate is available by mail in only. The fee to get this plate personalized includes $30 personalization fee and $25 special plate fee in addition to regular registration fee.

The Zeta Phi Beta license plate is available to all South Carolina Residents who are members of the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority. You must present a membership card or a letter from the state director to be eligible. The fee for the plate is $70 every two years in addition to the regular motor vehicle registration fee. A portion of the fees collected will be used by Zeta Phi Beta for academic scholarships.
