Greenville DMV Office Change of Location

Greenville residents should be aware of an upcoming location change for a local South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles (SCDMV) office.

At the close of business Friday, April 2, 2021, the Greenville - University Ridge Road branch office at 300 University Ridge Road will permanently close. A new SCDMV branch office will open Monday, April 5, 2021 at 122 Edgeworth Street in Greenville.

Customers will continue to receive the same services at the Greenville - Edgeworth Street branch office as they did at the Greenville - University Ridge Road branch office. The new location will be more spacious and used exclusively for SCDMV business.

"We are proud to offer an upgraded facility to better serve the Greenville community," said SCDMV Executive Director Kevin Shwedo. "This new location will allow us to improve our service times, operate more efficiently, and ensure a quality experience to our customers. We look forward to seeing Greenville residents and their families at the new location."

In addition to more space, the Greenville - Edgeworth Street branch office will offer more capabilities than the current Greenville - University Ridge Road branch office. There will be 12 additional counters available, including five counters compliant with the Americans with Disability Act (ADA), and five more knowledge testing stations than before. Customers will also enjoy two greeter stations and multiple ticket monitors to help reduce wait times and improve transaction flow.
