As South Carolina experiences below normal temperatures, you're reminded that all state offices, including the SCDMV, follow the direction of the county in which that office is located during closings for inclement weather.
For example, if Charleston County decides to close its administrative county offices for the day due to inclement weather, all SCDMV branches in Charleston County will also be closed. Likewise, if Charleston County, for example, decides to operate its administrative county offices on a two-hour delay, all SCDMV branches in Charleston County will also operate on a two-hour delay.
The South Carolina Emergency Management Division (SCEMD) updates the status of county offices in real time.
