FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant

The SCDMV applied for funding under the Pre-Disaster Mitigation (PDM) grant program. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) administers the funding that will go towards the purchase of hurricane shutters for some SCDMV branches on the South Carolina coast.

Before grant funds are awarded, there is a review period. The SCDMV is confident that its grant request will be successful, but it will take time to get through the multi-step process of review and approval from FEMA. At the appropriate time, the agency will provide to residents public notice of the project and information concerning locations that are in floodplains (Myrtle Beach Commons and Beaufort branches).
