SCDMV Branch Closing in 2020

At the close of business Friday, February 14, 2020, the SCDMV office at 180 Lockwood Boulevard, Charleston, South Carolina 29403 will permanently close.

Customers can continue to receive services at 946 Orleans Road #7, Charleston, South Carolina 29407.

Customers will experience the same services at the Orleans Road branch as they did at the Lockwood Boulevard branch. Additionally, international customers will be able to complete transactions for their driver’s licenses or identification cards at the Orleans Road office. Customers are also encouraged to use SCDMVonline.com to complete some of the most common transactions from the comfort of home.

Customers interested in completing road tests can walk-in to the Orleans Road branch from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (or until the available time slots for that day are filled) each day. SCDMV branches offer road test appointments Monday through Friday from 2 to 4:30 p.m.
