Service Name Descriptions
When you're viewing a specific branch's wait times, the times are categorized based on what transactions customers are completing. The service name descriptions below explain some of the transactions found in certain categories.
Express Service
- Change of name or address
- Parking placard for someone with a disability
- Replace lost or stolen driver's license or identification card
- Request a driving record
- Sale of license or commercial driver's license manuals
- Turn in license plate or registration decal
All Other Driver or ID Services
- Regular drivers' license transactions
- Motorcycle or moped license transactions
- Identification card transactions
- Commercial driver's license transactions
International Services
- Transactions involving international customers who are required to have some of the following documents:
- Permanent Resident Card
- Employment Authorization Card
- Visa
- Certificate of Naturalization
Renew Driver/Identification Service
- Transactions involving the renewal of a current driver's license or identification card
Renew Vehicle Registration Service
- Transactions involving the renewal of vehicle registrations
Road Test
- Transaction where customer is required to demonstrate their driving skills for private and/or commercial vehicles
Vehicle Services - All Other
- Title transactions
- Plate transactions
- Registration transactions
Written Test
- Transaction where customer is required to answer questions regarding South Carolina motor vehicle rules, regulations, and requirements
Motor Carrier Services
- Transactions involving owner or operators of commercial vehicles
Dealer Services
- Transactions provided for automobile dealerships
